There are now a multitude of streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Shudder, Apple TV+, soon to be Disney and now one that has been in the US for a while BritBox the new streaming service from The BBC, ITV, Channel 4 & 5.

BritBox is a service from the big UK TV channels. It will let you watch a stack of shows from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 without any ads. BritBox is only available to UK residents. You can also watch BritBox if you are temporarily outside the UK but within the EU

New shows won’t immediately be available on the platform, as the existing free streaming apps will carry those first, but older shows which have slipped off the general 30 day availability period will appear. The price for BritBox is £5.99 per month and you get 30 days free.

It is good to see multiple competitors getting together to create a content platform. With the multitude of subscriptions out there it is starting to get very expensive to catch all the content. What if there was a content provider that was very good at aggregating everyone on to one easy to use platform? Well there is and we tend to forget how good SkyQ is.

Will you be giving BritBox a go, or as it is already free to air material is it worth the £5.99pm price tag? Let us know in the comments.
